Even if, at a first glance, it doesn’t look like it, swing damping can in fact ascertain where the crane, swing damped, will come to a standstill. This information can be used both internally and externally for the positioning and monitoring of movements. Applications include storage pits, ship unloaders, and gantry cranes.
